Queen City Audio Video & Appliances Aims To Raise $50,000 For Renovation At Ronald McDonald House

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Queen City Audio Video & Appliances has partnered with the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Charlotte to raise funds to renovate the kitchen at the Charlotte Ronald McDonald House location at 1613 East Morehead Street.

“At Queen City we believe in giving back to our community. That is why we have teamed up with the Ronald McDonald House,” says Roddey Player, President, and CEO of Queen City Audio Video & Appliances.

In April of 2024, Queen City delivered new ranges, dishwashers, and dish disposals for the RMHC of Greater Charlotte’s family and volunteer kitchen. While on site, Queen City realized they needed more than just new appliances, but a full kitchen remodel.

During Queen City’s 2024 Memorial Day Sale period, $25 from every major appliance and $50 from every mattress purchased will go towards this initiative. The sale will run from Thursday, May 16th through Wednesday, June 5th. Queen City aims to raise $50,000 for the much-needed renovation.

“We are so honored to receive this generous gift and opportunity from Queen City Audio Video & Appliances and Roddey Player,” says Denise Cubbedge, CEO of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Charlotte. “Like anyone’s kitchen, the Ronald McDonald House kitchen is the heart of the home. In addition to families preparing their own meals, each day teams of volunteers also cook delicious home-cooked meals to serve 28 families who make our House their home-away-from-home while their child receives medical care at one of our area children’s hospitals. We are thrilled to work with Queen City and their amazing vendors as we rethink, revamp, and remodel our family and volunteer kitchen.”

Queen City will work together with the RMHC of Greater Charlotte Board and Operations Committee to understand the current and future needs of the family and volunteer kitchen. They will work with the original architect and other architectural advisors to produce an action plan and draft designs of a full kitchen remodel with the help of members of the Charlotte Interior Design Society. The goal is to have the plan finalized before the end of the year.

“We’re proud to support such a vital organization that helps families with sick or injured children,” says Player.
