CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Police charged a teenager with first-degree murder following an investigation into a north Charlotte shooting that left a 14-year-old dead.
Authorities identified the suspect as a 16-year-old juvenile.
Around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, police received a call about a dead body in a wooded area on Ann Elizabeth Drive near North Tryon Street.
When police arrived, they located a male juvenile with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, later identified as 14-year-old Jonathan Miller, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect’s name has not been released at this time.
The person that reported the incident to police did not know the victim, according to the CMPD incident report.
