FORT MILL, S.C.– The town of Fort Mill will honor those who died while serving in the United States Military on the morning Monday, May 27th.
The event will be held at 10 a.m. in Unity Cemetery, 303 Tom Hall St., with a welcome and introductory message from Fort Mill Mayor Guynn Savage, followed by a reading of the names of the fallen and a ceremonial program from American Legion Post 43.
The program will include the Posting of Colors, Laying of the Wreath, Rifle Volley and Taps and Retirement of Colors. The ceremony will also include the National Anthem and other special music.
We are inviting the public to submit names of veterans they would like to honor who died while serving
in the U.S. Military. There will be a limited number accepted due to time constraints.
The event is free to attend and parking is available at Fort Mill Utilities Department, 131 E. Elliott St., near the cemetery. Handicapped individuals may be dropped off directly in the cemetery. The ceremony will be recorded and available later for viewing on the Town’s YouTube Channel (@fortmilltv).
Following the ceremony, free ice cream will be provided by Screamin’ Cold Treats.
Please note Fort Mill Town Hall will be closed on Memorial Day.
