CLOVER, S.C. β An 80-year-old woman died and two others are in the hospital following a three-vehicle collision in York County on Wednesday afternoon, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
It happened around 1 p.m. on Hands Mill Highway near Campbell Road, three miles south of Clover, South Carolina.
The patrol said a Chrysler sedan traveling south crossed the center median and struck a northbound Lexus sedan. The Chrysler then hit a Ford coupe, causing that vehicle to travel off the right side of the road into an embankment.
The passenger in the Lexus sedan died as a result of the crash. The patrol said the Chrysler and Lexus drivers were injured and transported by EMS.
The two occupants in the Ford vehicle were not injured.
The victim was identified as 80-year-old Linda Farrant.
Pathology and toxicology reports are pending, officials said.
This collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
