York County Sheriff Race Enters Runoff

YORK COUNTY, S.C. – With 100% of precincts reporting, Michael Belk is leading the five candidates with 26.57% with Tony Breeden in second with 25.81%, resulting in the race heading to a runoff.

No candidate collected more than 50% of the vote and the runoff election is scheduled in two weeks on June 25.

Incumbent Sheriff Kevin Tolson is not running for reelection, but his wife, Beth Tolson is and she received 18.31% of the vote.

The other two candidates are Chris Blevins, who received 16.97% of the vote, and Heath Clevenger, who received 12.35% of the vote.
