MOORESVILLE, N.C. – A 33-year-old man is behind bars after breaking into a fire station in Mooresville on Thursday morning, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said Nicholas Allan Payret, 33, broke into the Mount Morne Fire Department just before 6 a.m. Thursday.
Deputies determined that Payret broke into multiple vehicles to steal items and that he damaged other items in and around the fire station, the sheriff’s office said.
Payret was arrested inside the fire department and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center. He is being charged with the following:
- Felony First-Degree Burglary
- Felony Breaking and Entering
- Felony Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle, 2 counts
- Felony Larceny after Breaking and Entering, 3 counts
- Misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct
- Misdemeanor Damage to Personal Property, 4 counts
He received a $102,500 secured bond.
