Police: 4 Men Arrested For Robbing US Postal Workers in Charlotte & Greensboro
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A scary trend developing in North Carolina has made its way to Charlotte. United States Postal Service workers robbed at gunpoint. It’s happened in Greensboro, too.
Police say two workers were robbed Monday morning while delivering mail. Surveillance video shows a USPS worker slowly backing out of a mail truck. The robber then pats the worker down, then the mail carrier slowly walks away. The video then shows the robber running away. Moments later a blue Nissan SUV is seen speeding from that scene.
Greensboro Police say the suspects then drove to Charlotte and committed additional USPS robberies. Investigators were able to track that car down and arrested 4 people. Greensboro Police have charged Jason Harrington, Taijawan Cross, Shaun Clark and Deonte Overby each with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of felony conspiracy. We are told Harrington accidentally shot himself below the waist while trying to run away from the cops.
Additional charges for the Charlotte robberies are pending.
