LINCOLNTON, N.C. – Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Benjamin Yates in relation to multiple vehicle break ins, according to a news release.
The release states that deputies responded to reports of multiple vehicles being broken into on June 21 in Denver, North Carolina. Deputies say two firearms were stolen from unlocked vehicles, along with multiple other items.
On June 22, deputies made contact with Yates after responding to a report of a man with a gun and found him in possession with a stolen gun from one of the vehicles, as said in the release. Yates was arrested and charged with possession of stolen firearm and carrying a concealed weapon.
A search warrant was obtained and executed of Yates’ residence on Lucky Creek Lane and deputies say they found the other firearm and several of the other items that were reported stolen in the break-ins.
Yates was then charged with multiple counts of felony breaking and entering a motor vehicle and felon larceny of a firearm.
