MONROE, N.C. – According to Monroe Police, two teenagers were found shot near Andrew Jackson Highway after a verbal argument.
At 9:29 p.m. on June 24, Monroe Police say they responded to a shooting and found 17-year-old Jadyn Rowdy and 18-year-old Jontavis Hood suffering from gunshot wounds. Rowdy succumbed to his injures and was pronounced dead on the scene and Hood was transported to a hospital and is expected to survive, according to a news release..
The release states that after an investigation, it was determined that the victims were in the yard of a residence on South Secrest Avenue and was confronted by a group of individuals, resulting in an argument.
Police reported that there were multiple shooters.
