YORK COUNTY – Zachary Patterson’s family says he is a fun loving father of a year old little boy. The 26 year old has been missing from York County since May 9th.

“I spoke to him Thursday about 3:30, and that was the last time I spoke to him,” said his mother, Nicole Showers.

Patterson’s mother says one of Zach’s friends came by her house at 9pm that night looking for Zach, but he wasn’t there.

“I just felt really uneasy,” she tells WCCB’s Emma Mondo. “By Friday morning, I knew something just wasn’t right, and then I reported him missing on Saturday morning.”

She tells me she first reported Patterson missing to Rock Hill police. The case was taken over by the York County Sheriff’s Office shortly after they were able to narrow down where he was last seen.

Mondo asked Trent Faris with the York County Sheriff’s Office if he thinks foul play may be a factor.

“None of the information that we have at the moment we believe that any of that along those lines has occurred, but we do have information where he was last seen.”

Patterson’s mom tells Mondo she did some detective work of her own to find out where Zachary’s friends last saw him.

“They had dropped him off near the Lesslie Fire Department, and that’s where it’s pretty much all this investigation, all these five weeks have still led us to that same spot,” she said.

Patterson’s family is hoping their search efforts will lead to answers sooner rather than later.

“Zach touched a lot of people’s lives, a lot of people cared about him, and we just have to keep his name alive until we find him and bring him home.”
