Suspect Arrested After Armed Bank Robbery In Kings Mountain

KINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C. – Police arrested a man in Mount Holly previously wanted for allegedly robbing a Truist Bank in Kings Mountain carrying a long rifle.

Gerald Anthony Bass Jr., 25, was arrested around 6:30 p.m. Thursday. He is facing a charge for robbery with a dangerous weapon.

It happened at a Truist Bank off East King Street in Kings Mountain. Bass left the scene with an undisclosed amount of money, officials said.

Police said Bass was driving a silver compact SUV, possibly a 2018 Mazda CX 5, with black rims, according to a news release.

Nobody was injured during the robbery.
