Woman Killed In Alleged Drunk Driving Crash In Gaston County
CHERRYVILLE, N.C. – A Cherryville woman is dead after an alleged drunk driver crashed head-on into her vehicle in Gaston County on Thursday morning, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
Around 8:41 a.m, deputies responded to NC 150 near Bud Black Road in regards to a vehicle collision.
Police said a Chevrolet truck crossed the centerline and hit a Kia head-on.
The Kia driver, 56-year-old Loretta Bradley Howell, died at the scene.
Nathan Lee Reinhardt, operating the Chevrolet truck, was injured and transported to a local hospital. He is being charged with Driving While Impaired, Felony Death by Motor Vehicle, Carless and Reckless Driving and Left of Center.
The crash is still under investigation.
