Police Arrest Second Person In Monroe Homicide Case
Update (7/2)
19-year-old Jeremey Jackson has been arrested and charged with first degree murder, attempted murder, assault inflicting serious bodily injury and discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling, according to a news release.
The charges against Jackson are related to the death of 17-year-old Jadyn Rowdy on Secrest Avenue on June 24. Monroe Police arrested and charged 20-year-old Christopher Barrett on June 26 in the same case.
The case remains an active investigation.

MONROE, N.C. – Police arrested a man in connection to the murder of a 17-year-old and attempted murder of another teenager in Monroe on Monday night, according to the Monroe Police Department.
Christopher Thomas Barrett, 20, was arrested on Wednesday. He is being charged with the following:
- First-Degree Murder
- Attempted First-Degree Murder
- Assault With A Deadly Weapon, Serious Injury
- Discharging A Firearm into an Occupied Dwelling
Barrett is being processed in the Union County Sheriff’s Office. No additional details were released.
