Lake Norman Drowning Victim Identified
LAKE NORMAN, N.C. – The body of a swimmer, who went missing on Lake Norman on the 4th of July, has been recovered, officials said Sunday.
Miles Merritt, 27, of Charlotte, was found around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, July 6th near an area called the Sandbar.
Crews were searching for Merritt overnight Thursday into Friday morning near the Sandbar area. The search continued on Saturday until his body was found.
No other details have been released at this time. The drowning death is still under investigation, according to the N.C. Wildlife Commission.
