CHARLOTTE, N.C. – State Representative Nasif Majeed, State Representative John Autry and North Carolina veterans launched Veterans for Biden-Harris, a coalition of veterans, service members and military families dedicated to reelecting President Biden and Vice President Harris. Veterans, service members and military families know better than anyone the threat a second Trump term poses to our democracy and the freedoms our military fights to protect, and this coalition will be organizing, mobilizing, and engaging their community about the clear choice they will face in November between Joe Biden, who is fighting for our nation’s service members and their families, and Donald Trump, who has a long history of disrespecting Americans in uniform.

North Carolina is one of the most military friendly states in the nation with the third-largest military presence in the country and over 700,000 veterans that call North Carolina home. Yesterday in Wilmington, the First Lady of the United States Jill Biden joined hundreds of North Carolinians in kicking off the launch of Veterans for Biden-Harris in the Tar Heel State.
As a military father, President Biden believes we have a sacred obligation to care for our nation’s service members and their families. He will never stop fighting to repay the debt of gratitude we owe them, and as president, he has delivered health care to more veterans than ever before by expanding access to VA health care, achieved record-low veteran unemployment, and signed the PACT Act to get thousands of veterans exposed to toxic burn pits the health care they need. Donald Trump called our fallen service members who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect and defend America “suckers” and “losers,” and wants to cut veterans’ benefits, while handing out tax giveaways to billionaires and big corporations.
“Throughout my service in the Air Force, I served under presidents who always put the interests of all Americans above those of their own. President Biden has honored those values, fighting for our democratic values, while Donald Trump has put them at risk by dishonoring our veterans time and time again,” said State Representative Nasif Majeed. “While our veterans fought for our freedoms, Donald Trump has fought to restrict them. We owe it to the country we swore to protect to defeat Trump once and for all – so he doesn’t have a chance to do any more damage to our democracy and our values as a nation. This November, I am stepping up again to serve our great country by supporting President Biden and Vice President Harris.”
