Briar Creek Road Reopened After Fallen Tree
Update (7/10)
Briar Creek Road has been reopened after a fallen tree has been cleaned up.
Original Story (7/8)
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Briar Creek Road in east Charlotte is shut down after a large tree fell across the road overnight.
Strong storms passed through the Charlotte area late Sunday night into early Monday morning causing some power outages and even a fire at a home in north Charlotte.
Images show some vehicles attempting to drive under the tree and low hanging power lines even though barricades have been placed on the road.
Motorists are advised to turn around and take an alternate route. There is no word on when the tree will be removed.
