CMPD Investigating June Homicide On North Tryon Street

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – CMPD detectives are conducting a homicide investigation after a victim from a shooting on June 8 succumbed to his injuries, according to a news release.

The release states that officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call on June 8, 2024 on the 600 block of North Tryon Street.

Officers say they found four victims, two men and two women, with gunshot wounds. One of the male victims had life-threatening injuries and the other three had non-life-threatening injuries and were all transported to a hospital, as said by CMPD.

After an investigation, detectives determined a verbal and physical altercation occurred after a group of individuals were denied entry into a business.

On July 8, 30-year-old Aundrey Brown, Jr. succumbed to his injuries sustained in the altercation.

Due to Brown’s death, the case has been transition to CMPD’s homicide unit.

This investigation is active and ongoing.
