CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A driver has been hospitalized after crashing a vehicle during an alleged police chase in south Charlotte on Tuesday.
Police say they attempted to make a traffic stop on I-85 near Little Rock Road. According to a news release, the driver failed to stop and a chase ensued, leading the driving to Moores Chapel Road where they reportedly crashed the car.
Police say the driver has been transported to Charlotte Medical Center Main.
Upon released, the driver will face the following charges:
- Felony flee to elude arrest.
- Failure to heed blue light and sirens
- Speeding
- Reckless driving
- No seatbelt
- No insurance
- Failure to register vehicle
- Misdemeanor possession of marijuana
