The white BMW that belonged to Whitney Hurd has been located, according to CMPD. Hurd’s body was discovered at a home on Werburgh Street on July 14th.
Police are investigating the case as a homicide. Her vehicle, a 2014 BMW X3 was missing. However, police say they located the vehicle and it is currently being process by CMPD’s Crime Scene Search Unit and Homicide Detectives.

Update (Posted July 17, 2024):
Detectives have identified the victim as 32-year-old Whitney Hurd, who was reported missing by her family on July 11, according to a news release.
The release states that her body was discovered at a home on Werburgh Street on July 14. Detective’s are requesting the public’s assistance in locating the vehicle shown below which belongs to Hurd.
The vehicle is a white 2014 BMW X3 with a license plate of KJP-9368.
The investigation is active and ongoing.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – CMPD is investigating a homicide that took place off of Tyvola Road on July 14, according to a news release.
The release states that officers responded to a death investigation on Werburgh Street off of Tyvola Road.
Homicide Unit detectives say they conducted an investigation and physical evidence has been collected after processing the scene.
On July 15, the case was ruled a homicide.
