CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Interstate 85 North is closed in Mecklenburg County due to a serious vehicle collision.
It is closed just before Exit 37 at Beatties Ford Road. Traffic is backed up past Freedom Drive.
The NCDOT expects it to clear up around 6:45 p.m.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area and seek an alternate route.
