Suspects Arrested, Narcotics Seized In Lenoir

LENOIR, N.C. – Three people were arrested Tuesday after police seized over 400 grams of narcotics following a short pursuit, according to the Lenoir Police Department.

Police were investigating the distribution of methamphetamine in Lenoir and believed that 28-year-old Zachery Stephenson was involved.

On Tuesday, investigators located Stephenson driving a 2024 Chevrolet vehicle, with a suspended license, on Warren Place in Lenoir.

Officers conducted a traffic stop and upon approaching the vehicle, Stephenson fled the area, police said.

The pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed into a small utility trailer, and Stephenson and two other passengers left on foot. All three were quickly apprehended.

Police searched the vehicle and found 411.2 grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and $1,626 in U.S. currency.

The narcotics seized amount to approximately $61,650 in street value, according to the North Carolina Drug Guidelines.

Stephenson is being held on a $750,000 bond. He was charged with the following:

  • Trafficking in Methamphetamine by Possession
  • Trafficking in Methamphetamine by Transportation
  • Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, deliver Methamphetamine
  • Maintaining a Vehicle for the sale of Controlled Substance
  • Possessing Drug Paraphernalia
  • Resisting Public Officer
  • Hit and Run – Leaving the Scene of an Accident
  • Failure to Report Accident
  • Driving While License Revoked – Not Impaired Revocation
  • Reckless Driving to Endanger

The other two suspects, 40-year-old Devin Johnson and 35-year-old Victoria Hennessee were each charged with resisting a public officer. Johnson received an additional two felony counts for violating probation.
