WASHINGTON, D.C. β Senator Thom Tillis announced a $27 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation to go towards the replacement of up to 16 passenger boarding bridges at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT).
All funding comes directly from the Bipartisan Infrastructure LawΒ (BIL) which Senator Tillis helped negotiate, write, and pass into law.
βCharlotte Douglas International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world, and this award to replace aging passenger boarding bridges is a much-needed upgrade to continuing improving this important transportation hub,βΒ said Senator Tillis.Β βThis was made possibleΒ byΒ theΒ Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, legislation that Iβm proud to have helped author and pass into law. Itβs already provided more than $10 billion to rebuild North Carolinaβs infrastructure, and this award to CLT is the latest project that will benefit our great state.β
