15-Year-Old Bicyclist Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle Sunday Night

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A 15-year-old died at the hospital after being hit by an SUV while riding his bike Sunday night.

Around 6:15 Sunday, police responded to a crash on Robinson Church Road and Jerimoth Drive.

The teenage bicyclist, Christian Dixon Green, was found unresponsive on the shoulder of the road. A Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross SUV was also located with damage to the front right corner.

Green was transported with life-threatening injuries. He died Wednesday morning, surrounded by family at the time of his passing.

Police conducted an investigation and said that Green failed to stop at a stop sign at the Jerimoth Drive and Robinson Church Road intersection. He was then struck by the Mitsubishi vehicle, driven by 25-year-old Allize Shelton.

Shelton was not injured and not impaired at the time of the crash.

Police did not say if any charges will be filed in the case. The crash is still under investigation.
