Greenway Attempted Rape Suspect Pleads Guilty

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A judge sentenced a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman at McAlpine Creek Greenway in 2022 to nearly 10 years in prison.

Khalil Boler pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree rape, sexual battery and indecent exposure.

On September 7, 2022, investigators say Boler attacked the woman and attempted to rape her while she was walking on the greenway in southeast Charlotte. He first became a person of interest in the case following his arrest for two separate incidents at the Target on University City Boulevard.

DNA evidence collected from the greenway assault matched Boler.

Boler’s sentence is 48-118 months. He will be on supervised probation for two years after his release. He will also have to register as a sex offender for 30 years.
