Man Arrested After Shooting At Rock Hill Grocery Store

ROCK HILL, S.C. – A man was taken into custody Thursday after police said he shot another man in a grocery store in Rock Hill, the police department said.

Around 12:38 p.m., police responded to Adam’s Grocery on South Wilson Street in regards to a shooting. Two men were allegedly fighting in the store when the suspect shot the victim before fleeing on foot, police said.

When police arrived, they located a 46-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the stomach. He was transported to Piedmont Medical Center for treatment.

The suspect was identified as 24-year-old Zamarri Carter. Police located him at a residence on Carolina Avenue Extension in Rock Hill where he was arrested without incident.

Carter was taken to the Rock Hill Jail. He received warrants for assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, possession of a weapon during a crime of violence and possession of a firearm by a person convicted of certain crimes.
