Free Admission To National Parks

Sunday is a great time to enjoy one of the country’s greatest treasures at no cost, as you can get into any national park for free.

The Sunday discount is to commemorate the passing of the Great American Outdoors Act in 2020.

That law provided additional funding to national parks and public lands.

There are more than 400 national parks nationwide, several of which are in the Carolinas.

The closest parks include the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, a part of the Appalachian Mountains near the Tennessee border. 

Another is the Congaree National Park, approximately 18 miles south of Columbia, South Carolina.
