Elderly Woman Dies From Intentionally Set Fire In June; Homicide Investigation Underway
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Police are conducting a homicide investigation after an 82-year-old died Tuesday from her injuries sustained in an intentionally set fire in June.
Around 6:30 p.m. on June 21st, firefighters and Medic responded to an apartment complex on Sharon Road West where they located a woman in need of medical assistance.
The woman, identified as 82-year-old Lorna Joy Roth, was transported to the hospital and died on Tuesday.
In an investigation, it was determined that the fire was intentionally set, according to CMPD.
Roth’s death has been ruled a homicide, and a suspect is sought at this time.
