Man Arrested In Mooresville After Vehicle, Foot Pursuit

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – A 24-year-old man was arrested in Mooresville after a vehicle and foot pursuit on Friday afternoon, according to the Mooresville Police Department.

Victor Miguel Richardson, in a black Ford Expedition, had a felony warrant for his arrest and was actively fleeing officers, police said. The chase involved officers from CMPD and MPD.

Mooresville officers located the vehicle as it exited off I-77 onto Highway 21. As officers pursued the vehicle, it hit a police vehicle and a civilian’s vehicle, but nobody was hurt, police said.

The chase continued on I-77 south to Sam Furr Road where police successfully deployed stop sticks.

Police said Richardson exited the vehicle and ran away before being apprehended by a K9.

Once in custody, police determined Richardson had an active warrant for larceny of a motor vehicle and that the vehicle he was fleeing in was reported stolen earlier in the day. He was also linked to a larceny incident by Mooresville police.

Richardson has charges pending for flee, elude arrest with a motor vehicle, no operator’s license and larceny.
