Local Animal Rescue Asking For Community’s Help
CLAREMONT, N.C. — A local animal rescue is asking for the community’s help. A good Samaritan contacted the Great Pyreneese Rescue of Western NC in Claremont earlier this month after they found a Great Pyreneese that was left on the side of the road after being hit by a car during Hurricane Debby. Dana suffered from internal injuries, a broken leg and fractured pelvis and required emergency surgery. The rescue immediately took on Dana’s care and was able to organize transportation for her to the Veterinary Hospital at NC State where she underwent emergency surgery.
Dana, required another surgery while in the care at NC State, but has been doing well and is now recovering with the rescue in Claremont. However, more surgeries are needed and the vet bills continue to pile up to $20,000.
The rescue has started a GoFundMe to help cover the costs of Dana’s continued care. If you would like to help, you can donate here.
