CHARLOTTE, N.C. – CMPD is investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash involving a Freightliner truck on Granite Street, according to a news release.
The release states that on August 20, officers responded to a call on the intersection of Granite Street and Westinghouse Boulevard involving a motor vehicle crash.
Upon arrival, officers say they found a Kia Sorento with front-end damage and a Freightliner truck with damage to the right cargo bed.
The driver of the Kia, 34-year-old Renard Adams, suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead by MEDIC.
The investigation states that the Freightliner attempted to make a left onto Granite Street and was struck by the Kia. The driver of the Freightliner was not injured.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
