CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A GoFundMe fundraiser has been started for the family of a pedestrian that was struck and killed in south Charlotte on Monday.
Eric Macken was hit by a vehicle on Pineville-Matthews Road and Providence Road on August 19th. He was rushed to the hospital where he died the next day.
“It’s difficult to capture Eric’s essence in just a few words. He was a remarkable person—funny, incredibly goofy, with an infectious laugh that could brighten any room,” the fundraiser said. “His love for music and his ability to see the good in everyone made him truly special.
“It’s still hard to believe that he’s no longer with us.”
Macken leaves behind a child and seven siblings.
