City Council Approves Zoning Changes For Hornets Practice Facility

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte Hornets are getting their new practice facility thanks to City Council.

Zoning changes were approved earlier this week during a council meeting that will allow the Hornets to build a two-acre facility on a parking lot along North Caldwell and East 5th Street.

The small zoning changes will allow the Hornets some freedoms like placing large signs along the building.

Hornets fans are welcoming the change and hope it breathes fresh air into the organization.

As part of the deal, the city agreed to contribute $30 million dollars to get that facility built. Hornets management also has plans to build a parking lot on the same site.
