Catawba Man Sentenced For Trafficking Methamphetamine

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A Catawba man was sentenced to 235 months in prison for trafficking methamphetamine, according to the United States’ Attorney’s Office.

Bobby Lee Fish Jr., 44, will serve 19-plus years in prison followed by five years of supervised release.

Hickory Police began investigating drug trafficking activities by Fish in 2022. On two occasions, the police department would send a confidential informant to acquire methamphetamine from Fish.

On May 2, 2022, officers conducted a traffic stop and search on Fish’s vehicle. In the search, police found four packages, which were later revealed to contain over 900 grams of methamphetamine in each.

Fish pleaded guilty to the distribution of methamphetamine earlier this year in April.

Fish has an extensive criminal history with crimes committed in North Carolina, Georgia and Florida.
