OMAHA, N.E. — One person was critically injured in a school shooting at Omaha Northwest High School in Nebraska. A suspect is in custody, according to the Omaha Police Department.
Police say there is no longer a threat to the public and all students have been moved to the football stadium for reunification with their families.
The shooting was reported shortly after 1:30pm Eastern Time.Β The school has been rendered safe, according to police.
Students who ride buses will be transported from campus first. Once that is complete, students who do not ride the bus each day will be released to families who are on site.Β Students who walk or drive themselves to school each day will then be released. Police say this process will take some time and are asking parents to please be patient.
