GASTONIA, N.C. β An attempted armed robbery suspect was shot and killed by a customer at a convenience store in Gastonia, according to the police department.
Police said Victor Almodovar Jr. attempted to commit an armed robbery at Willβs Food Store off Hickory Grove Road on Tuesday. Almodovar, armed with a firearm, demanded money from the store employee, officials said.
A customer in the store was armed with a handgun and shot Almodovar, police said.
Almodovar was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries. No one else was hurt in the incident.
Police said they have not made any arrests at this time but are still investigating the incident.
