Panthers Tickets Selling For Price Of Stadium Hot Dog Ahead Of Home Opener

CHARLOTTE, NC — The bad news for Panthers fans, the team is terrible. The good news is fans can go to Sunday’s game for dirt cheap. Tickets have dropped to as low as $15. A sign fans are getting fed up with the teams awful performances. That poor play is causing a ripple effect beyond the field.

The Cats looked like kittens in week one.

“The beginning of this season, there’s always some type of pride and some type of hope. After that game one though, I go to 10%,” said Berned Wagner of the Panthers 47-10 loss to the New Orleans Saints.

With optimism for the season quickly deflating, so are ticket prices. Wednesday afternoon we found two tickets available on StubHub for just $15.

“The Panthers, I mean I don’t think we’re breaking any news here, they have really struggled to generate excitement in the last few years,” said Erik Spanberg with the Charlotte Business Journal.

Spanberg says the team will likely lose money but still finish the season with a profit as the fans interest level drops. But it’s the season ticket holders who are really losing as the team continues to be the worst in the league.

“They want to see those go up, appreciate and value in case they decide to sell them and then there’s just not a good feeling of you paid whatever, 100, $200 for a game. Now, you see people buying tickets for $15, $20. Nobody is going to enjoy that feeling,”

A season ticket holder who asked we hide her name, agrees with Spanberg so much, she made the tough decision to get rid of her personal seat license after last years two win season.

“We forfeited them because you can’t even get people to come to the games with you anymore, let alone try to make any, any money back.

Uptown bars like Graham St. Pub are hoping the team turns it around, fast.

“It’s the heartbeat of of the city. So, you know, we’re pulling for them,” said Graham St. Pub co-owner Dimitri Maheras.
