KINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C. — Police have identified the man killed in a wreck that happened in Kings Mountain in the area of South Battleground Avenue and Raven Circle.
The accident happened shortly after 8am on Wednesday, September 11th. Police say they received several 911 calls reporting the accident involving a small pickup truck and a large box truck.
Upon arrival, officers noticed the driver of the pickup truck was trapped inside his vehicle. He has been identified as 73-year-old Edmond Bukoski.
Kings Mountain Fire Department used specialized equipment to free Bukoski from the vehicle. He was then transported to Atrium Health. A follow-up investigation revealed Bukoski died from the injuries he sustained in the accident, according to a news release.
Police say the driver of the box truck did not suffer major injuries. No criminal charges have been filed at this time. Anyone with information about this accident is asked to call the Kings Mountain Police Department at 704-734-0444.
