Man Arrested For Destruction Of Evidnece In Deadly Shooting

SALISBURY, N.C. β A man was arrested Friday in connection to the fatal shooting at a fundraising event in Salisbury on September 8th.
Nicholas Romero-Mandujano, 24, was arrested by Rowan County deputies just before 4 p.m. Friday. Deputies say Mandujano tampered with evidence, as he took an AR-15 and a pistol from the scene.
Mandujano was charged with one felony count of destruction of evidence.
Deputies identified 19-year-old Rafael Varela Angeles as one of the victims. He was shot in the chest and died at the hospital.
No arrests have been made for the shooting. That is still under investigation.

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. β Two victims were transported to a hospital after a shooting at a fundraising event on Oak Mountain Road that resulted in one dead, according to a news release.
The release states that on September 8 before 9:00 p.m., deputies responded to a shooting at a fundraising event that had a large crowd in attendance.
Upon arrival, deputies say they found a man with a gunshot wound in his chest and lifesaving aid was administered by a deputy before being transported to a hospital in Charlotte. The victim succumbed to his injuries.
While on the scene, deputies learned that a second victim was transported by private vehicle to a hospital and is in stable condition, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators are working to identify the shooter.
