MONROE, N.C. β A Monroe teen has been charged after a video surfaced on social media of him assaulting another teen, according to the Monroe Police Department.
Police said the video was posted to the Veronica Springs neighborhood Facebook page on Thursday morning. In the video, it allegedly showed a teenager assaulting another with a handgun.Β
The suspect recorded himself committing the assault and then posted it on social media, police said.
Detectives tracked down the suspect and arrested him on Friday. He has been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon through the Department of Juvenile Justice.
