CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Three areas of Mecklenburg County needed to evacuate due to flooding concerns on Saturday afternoon, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Emergency Management.
Mandatory evacuation orders were issued in the areas of Riverside Drive, Lake Drive, Riverhaven Drive, and parts of Beagle Club Road and Hart Road near Mountain Island Lake.
Voluntary evacuations were ordered near Allison Ferry Road, Arthur Auten Drive, Drake Cove Road, Neck Road, Ballypat Lane, Johnson David Road and Latta Springs.

Emergency officials said all residents who live near Lake Norman, Lake Wylie, Mountain Island Lake, and the Catawba River need to be aware of the rising water levels and take caution.
