Man Arrested In Statesville For Stealing Car In Durham

STATESVILLE, N.C. –  A man was arrested in Statesville for stealing a car from a dealership in Durham, North Carolina, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

On Friday, a deputy responded to Newton Road in regards to an unknown person and a vehicle on the caller’s property, the sheriff’s office said.

Upon arrival, the deputy located the vehicle, but the driver left before he arrived. It was soon determined that the vehicle was reported stolen earlier in the day from a car dealership in Durham.

Law enforcement established a perimeter and deployed a K9 and a drone to track down and arrest 24-year-old Jesse Ridge.

Ridges was charged with felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle. He did not receive a bond amount as he was already out on bond for previous charges.

Durham Police also obtained warrants against Ridge for felony larceny of a motor vehicle, the sheriff’s office said.
