Man Arrested For Drug Possession At Matthews Hotel
MATTHEWS, N.C. – A man was arrested at a hotel in Matthews for possessing narcotics and a handgun, according to the Matthews Police Department.
Around 9:30 p.m. on September 19, police and K9 Raff were conducting a foot patrol in the parking lot of the Econo Lodge off Moore Road.
The officer saw suspicious activity coming from a parked vehicle and made contact with 34-year-old Leshawn Adams in the car.
K9 Raff gave a positive indication of narcotics in the vehicle.
A search led to the discovery of heroin, methamphetamine, crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia, police said. A handgun was also found inside the vehicle.
Adams was arrested and charged with the following:
- Possession of a Firearm by Felon
- Possession of Heroin
- Create Counterfeit Substance
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon, 2 counts
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
