Discussion:
Frost Advisory until 9am for the mountains. We’re waking up to patchy frost and some fog with temperatures in the mid 30s across the mountains. Temps will warm into the low 70s today under sunny skies. High pressure will shift east this weekend allowing temps to warm back near 80 by Saturday and Sunday. Wind will begin to pick up Sunday in the mountains as a cold front approaches the area. Expect gusty winds Monday for the mountains, but little to no rain chances. Temps will drop fast Monday night with lows falling into the 30s across the high country with frost likely and the potential for a light freeze while the rest of the region will fall into the 40s. Daytime highs will max out in the 60s.
The Northern Lights were seen across much of the US thanks to clear skies and strong geomagnetic storm overnight. Chances to catch the northern lights again will be tough as far south as the Carolinas for the rest of the weekend.
