Wonderful Week Ahead
Sunny. Warm. It doesn't get much better than this.
Another fantastic weekend is coming to a close, and the wonderful weather will continue into the workweek. Get ready for a chilly start to your Monday as lows dip into the 30s and 40s across the board, but temperatures quickly rise into the 60s and 70s by the afternoon. Sunny skies will continue their dominance as a power ridge of high pressure maintains its stranglehold on the Eastern Seaboard. Highs will steadily rise near 80° by midweek around the Metro, but another mainly dry cold front will quickly cut down any gains by Friday. Next weekend looks sunny, dry, and comfortable with highs in the 60s and 70s.
If you blinked, you may have missed it: two named storms quickly spun up in the Atlantic Basin this weekend. Tropical Storm Nadine formed and quickly made landfall in Central America yesterday; the storm has already degraded into a remnant low. Hurricane Oscar, however, may have a bit more longevity to it. The storm quickly strengthened into a Category 1 yesterday as it approached the eastern tip of Cuba and will make landfall sometime this Sunday evening. Oscar will not impact the Carolinas directly, but could cause higher swells and rip currents along the coast later this week. No other storms are forecast to form over the next seven days.
