Independence Boulevard Shut Down After Car Strikes Utility Pole

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –  The Eastway exit of Independence Boulevard has been closed after a car struck a utility pole Monday afternoon.

The Duke Energy contractor team and Medic team are on scene.

The accident has completely shut the road down. The road will remain closed for several hours.

This accident will have heavy impacts on the evening commute.

Motorist should seek alternate routes.
