AM Fog, Well Above Average Temperatures
AM Headlines:
- Warm & Dry
- Minimal Rain Chances
- Cooler Weekend
Discussion:
It’s a mild and cloudy start with isolated sprinkles near the Southern Blue Ridge. Any fog or light sprinkles will clear with clouds clearing through the day. High pressure will push temps back toward 80 this afternoon — a solid 10 degrees above average. The upper ridge will stick around keeping temps warm for Halloween. It will be a mild night for the trick or treaters with temps in the miod 70s near sunset and falling only into the upper 60s by 9-10pm. A potent cold front will bring strong to severe storms across the central and southern plains today and tomorrow, but it will weaken as it arrives in the Carolinas Friday. Once again, there won’t be much moisture to tap into so outside of a spotty shower, you can expect cloudy skies and another warm day Friday. A backdoor cold front will slide through the region Saturday, this will help to drop temperatures back into the low 70s for the weekend. Another ridge will build in early next week which will help push temperatures back above average into the mid to upper 70s by Monday and Tuesday.
