Amber Alert Issued For Missing Pembroke 9-Year-Old

PEMBROKE, N.C. — The Pembroke Police Department is searching for 9 year old Mekiya Werrell Strickland. She is described as a 4′ 10”, 160 lb black female with brown hair and brown eyes. Authorities believe the victim is with Claude Leslie Werrell who is described as a 6′ 5” 50 y/o black male weighing 280 pounds. He’s believed to be driving a blue 2011 Chevy Traverse with NC plate number LBL 1909.
