CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A firefighter and two residents were injured from a two-alarm fire late Saturday night.
It happened in an apartment complex on Wynbrook Way near Dalecrest Drive in north Charlotte.
Firefighters were called around 11:19 p.m. and saw light smoke coming from the residence upon arrival. A second alarm was issued to help with rescue efforts.
Firefighters were able to rescue two occupants from the affected unit. They were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
One firefighter did sustain a minor injury during the rescue, and was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The fire was controlled by 11:46 p.m. and was contained to the single apartment unit.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
