2 New Clues In Search For Dead Woman’s Identity

CABARRUS CO., N.C. – Investigators have released two new clues in the case of a woman found dead along the side of a major local roadway. The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office has released two photos they hope will generate new tips in this case. The first photo shows a portion of the woman’s sweatpants with a distinctive screen print of a race car on the leg. The second photo shows the distinctive, multi-colored necklace the woman was wearing.

Detectives found the woman’s body along the side of US Highway 601 South at the Rocky River bridge on Monday, November 4th. They do not think she was killed at that location; they believe her killers dumped her body there. Her exact cause of death is still under investigation by the NC Medical Examiner’s Office.

The victim is described as a Black woman, approximately 5’4″, weighing 150 pounds. She was wearing a black top and white/gray sweatpants. She has no tattoos.

The Cabarrus Co. Sheriff’s Office is working with other law enforcement agencies to cross-reference missing persons reports throughout the region. If you have any information that could help, call 704-932-7463 or text 93CRIME to CRIMES (274637). You can also submit a tip online here.
