Smoke can be seen in the distance from a 2-alarm fire at International Paper near Uptown Charlotte.
CHARLOTTE, NC – Firefighters are on the scene of a 2-alarm fire at a paper recycling company near uptown Charlotte.
The call came out around 3pm Wednesday about a fire at International Paper on East 28th Street.
Charlotte Fire says when firefighters arrived they found a large pile of debris on fire and heavy smoke spreading toward a nearby building. Crews were able to get the fire contained at 4:34 pm.
Medic said two of its units responded, but there were no injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. This is a developing story, check back for updates.
